VEEC trading

Victorian certificates. Paid fast.

We buy VEECs at a published rate, charge nothing, and settle within 24 hours. A Victorian desk that also knows your STCs.

The scheme

What creates VEECs

Under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program, each VEEC is one tonne of CO2e abated. Accredited providers lodge activities with the Essential Services Commission and the certificates are traded to energy retailers.

Hot water heat pumps

Replacing an electric or gas water heater with a heat pump is one of the most common residential activities.

Heating and cooling

Efficient space heating and cooling replacing older systems in homes and businesses.

Commercial lighting

Upgrading commercial and industrial lighting to efficient fittings and controls.

Other upgrades

The program covers a range of other efficiency activities. The Essential Services Commission lists what is current.

Compliance notes

Keep VEEC claims clean

  • Activities must be registered by an accredited provider under the program.
  • Product eligibility is checked against the Essential Services Commission product registers for the install date.
  • Keep install records, customer consent and photos with serials for the audit trail.
  • Where the same job also creates STCs, both claims must match on model, serial and date.

Program rules change. Confirm current requirements with the Essential Services Commission, and the desk will pre-check what you send us.

Questions

VEEC questions, answered

What is a VEEC?
A Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificate represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent abated under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program, which is administered by the Essential Services Commission.
Who can create VEECs?
Accredited providers register the activities and lodge them with the Essential Services Commission. If you are not accredited yourself, talk to the desk about how installers in your position commonly work with an accredited provider.
What do you pay for VEECs?
Today's published rate is $60.00 per VEEC, updated on the pricing page. It moves with the market and is locked when a complete claim is lodged.
Do you charge fees?
No. There are no processing, admin or registry fees. The rate you see is the rate you get.
How fast is settlement?
Established partners are paid within 24 hours of sign-off. A new partner's first claim clears in 48 to 72 hours while we verify details.
Can I trade STCs and VEECs on the same job?
Often yes, such as a heat pump hot water install in Victoria. Each scheme has its own rules, so the desk checks both before lodging. See hot water STCs for the federal side.
Do I need a separate account for VEECs?
No. One partner account covers STCs, battery STCs and VEECs, with one account manager.
